Hi all,
My husband and I are probably getting a couple iPad air 2's. If anyone has one, what do you think of it? What did you like about it? What didn't you like ablut it? Thanks,
Leslie
I like that it is much louder than the iPhone and I also like that it has a good battery life. What I don't like about it is that I like smaller screen sizes, and use headphones/speakers to listen to audio anyway, so the iPod is much better for this purpose. It also seems the iPod 6 has better accuracy with KNFB reader than the iPad. That said, one good thing, if you are a low vision user, is that some of those not-so-handy low vision features like zoom really serve much more of a purpose on the iPad than the iPhone/iPod because of the larger screen. Unlike older iPads, the iPad Air 2 supports picture in picture, which allows you to watch Youtube videos, for example, in a smaller window while you tend to something in another app. Great for blind people who want to have music going and still use VoiceOver, and good I'd imagine, for the sighted population, as they can keep an eye on a video while also tending to another task. Same with multitasking. You can use the slide over feature on all iPads that support iOS 9, but the iPad Air 2, iPad Pro, and iPad mini 4 are the only ones that support split view. Split View allows you to not only run 2 apps on the screen at once, but also allows you to decide how much of the screen each app will consume. All of this stuff is useable with VoiceOver, though I question how productive it would be in the long run with VoiceOver since it takes longer for a VoiceOver user to set this feature up than a sighted user. I hope this info helps.
ah, perfect! Now, I want one but will continue with my useless IPhone. :d
I like it, but have the same complaint.
The screen is much to big using voice over. It is like feeling a table top finding what you are looking for.
I guess with time, you get use to it.
Over all a good product.
If you think that's big, have a look at the iPad Pro. It's not too much bigger than the air 2, but slightly so. It has really good sound though. As for the iPad, I have very little need for one other than to test apps and such for my job.
I thought the iPhone 6 was sort of large. It took me about a week to get use to the extra size.
Running a finger over 12 inches of monitor to find stuff it just to big.
Typing on one without a keyboard for me takes me forever. Lol
